Hiding in the Woods
I never spent any of my life near woods, and yet they do have this incredible pull for me. It is hard NOT to believe that little creatures are hiding in there playing. Seductive thought. I always wanted a skirt made from poppy petals, because fairies dress so incredibly well. A few Christmases ago I made my niece a little fairy dwelling in her yard – small doors and windows attached to a tree, a little clothesline with tiny clothes and some small garden tools. I left a bell anklet on her front porch with a teensy note that said “Why do you have a tree in your house instead of your house in a tree?” She was so mesmerized, and that look on a child’s face is really the point of it all, isn’t it?
